Inside a former Soviet secret submarine base Posted by: jonathanwallace Video duration: 301 seconds In October 2006 I visited Balaklava in the Crimea, Ukraine and went into the former submarine base dug deep into a cliff. This was once one of the USSR's most secret facilities during the Cold War. It's now a museum but could pass as a set for a James Bond or Indiana Jones movie! The building was made famous by the cult film "Get Carter". The top levels have been closed for years but I was allowed to go up and film the building and the views from it before it gets demolished.
